Nine top people of the Rooster Year

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. The nine distinguished persons for the
Mongolian Year of the Rooster have been named by the Unoodor daily: *
Asashoryu D.Dagvadorj, a state honored athlete of Mongolia and the
Grand Champion of the Japanese professional sumo, leads the list of the
nine people. He won the Yokozuna -- Grand Champion title of the
Japanese sumo--early in 2003. In 2004 and 2005, he gained the victories
at seven bashyos and set three top records.

  1. The Mongolian President
    Mr. N.Enkhbayar. He was working as the Minister of Culture, Chairman of
    the Mongolian People s Revolutionary Party, Prime Minister and
    Parliament Speaker. He was elected the President in 2005. Formerly, he
    led the list of the nine persons three times.
  2. The former Prime
    Minister Mr. Ts.Elbegdorj. The Government led by him was quitted on
    January 13 by the ruling Mongolian People s Revolutionary Party. The
    world audience interested in Mongolia s politics waits for new ideas
    and steps from Mr. Ts.Elbegdorj, who was valued as the democratic
    symbol by the US President Mr. George Bush.
  3. The newly appointed
    Prime Minister Mr. M.Enkhbold. He worked as the Ulaanbaatar City Mayor
    for seven years. In 2005, he was appointed as the Chairman of the
    Mongolian People s Revolutionary Party (MPRP).
  4. L.Tudev, well-known
    Mongolian writer and a member of the World Literature Academy. His
    first book Hello, Dear Children! was published 50 years ago. In 2005,
    he was named as one of the 100 best world writers. The International
    Studies Institute of the Mongolian Academy of Sciences has presented
    him the Honorary Doctor title.
  5. A Mongolian nuclear physicist
    Ch.Jargal. He is one of four Mongolian scholars, who work in the
    International Nuclear Energy Agency that was awarded with the Nobel
    Peace Prize in 2005. He defended the doctorate degree in the United
    Nuclear Study Institute in Dubna, Russia. He has been working in the
    above Agency since 1990. In the last five years, he has been working as
    the Leader of the team to control nuclear weapons in the Asia-Pacific
    countries.
  6. U.Enkhtuvshin, a well-known politician. He is the General
    Coordinator of the newly established MPRP Wing Tradition-Reforms and
    Democracy-Justice .
  7. G.Osokhbayar, a member of the Mongolian First
    Everest team. He flied the flag of Mongolia on 8,850 meters peak of the
    Everest after more than 50-day climb of the team. The Mongolian
    President awarded him with the State honored athlete title for this
    wonderful success.
  8. B.Naranbaatar, an international standard master
    of free style wrestling. He won a gold medal at the 2005 Universiad. He
    also brought home a bronze medal from the World Free Style Wrestling
    Championship held in Budapest. The Mongolian National Olympic Committee
    announced him as the 2005 best athlete.
  9. D. Altankhuyag, 23 years old
    and the youngest State honored ballet dancer. He is a solo ballet
    dancer of the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet. In the last
    three years, he won gold, silver and bronze medals at nine
    international ballet competitions. He performs on the professional
    stages of the USA and Japan theatres. He participated in the gala
    concert of the world classic dancers for the New Year celebration,
    which was organized in Barcelona, Spain.B.
