Athletes meet in Ulaanbaatur’s for Asian Boxing Championship

Athletes from 20 countries
have descended upon Mongolia for the 24th Asian Boxing Championship. 

During opening ceremonies at
Ulaanbaatur’s wrestling palace, 140 athletes gathered prior to the
first boxing matches. Eleven championship medals will be awarded during
the tournament. 

China is represented by 11
boxers, including 2005 world champion Zou Shiming. 

Between 1971 and 1997, Mongolia
won 40 championship boxing medals. However, Mongolia has not won a single
medal since 1997.
