News report: 40,000 Mongolian cattle dead due to harsh winter

The Chinese media is reporting
that Mongolia has suffered serious losses in cattle due to the harsh
winter.

Reporting from Ulaanbaatur,
the Xinhua Chinese news agency claims 40,000 head of cattle have died
in Mongolia due to the severe winter. The news agency said snow in some
areas of Mongolia is at least 25 centimeters deep.

While some 40 million head
of cattle are raised in Mongolia, it is believed the losses this winter
are due to the inability to get feed to cattle stranded by the harsh
winter.

It is further reported that
the Mongolian government has taken steps to send aid to isolated cattle
herds.

What a nonsense article. This is the lowest number of cattle to die in the winter in many years! Besides that this winter is one of the softest winter in years!
