It was announced Thursday that
Mongolia and Monaco will establish diplomatic relations.
According to reports, discussions
at the ambassadorial level had been conducted at the United Nations
in New York. Following discussions, letters have been exchanged confirming
the intent of Mongolia and Monaco to recognize each other’s governments.
However, there are no plans
to exchange ambassadors or establish foreign embassies.
Monaco measures 1.95 sq. km
in size and has a population of just over 30,000 people. The independent
country is completely surrounded by France.
