Snow, cold blamed for 29 deaths in spring storm

As many as 29 may be dead following
spring snowstorms in Mongolia’s eastern provinces. Officials report
that possibly seven children have been found among the dead.

Also, at least 100 Mongolians
have been reported missing.

The State Emergency Authority
(SEA) said Wednesday that Suhbaatar's eastern province, along with two
other provinces, have been cut off by the storm.

SEA further said the majority
of deaths were caused by severe temperatures.

The snowstorm has also caused
damage to buildings, villages and the provinces’ electronic infrastructure,
according to officials.
