While newspapers struggle with
declining circulations in the West, Mongolian newspapers posted a 42.11
percent increase in circulation in the past five years.
Mongolia’s increases were
consistent with circulation figures released by the World Association
of Newspapers showing dramatic newspaper circulation increases in many
newly developing countries.
During that same five-year
period, paid newspaper circulations rose 9.57 percent worldwide.
Also, free daily newspapers
now account for seven percent of all global newspaper circulation and
a whopping 23 percent in Europe.
During the five-year period
measured newspaper advertising revenues rose by 12.84 percent.
