Mongolia Blogs Round-UpWhile investment agreements kept politicians and miners entertained, the biggest buzz in the blogs was all the casting of Mongolians. DODR, Asian Gypsy and Mongolian Matters all had their share in ridiculing the ridiculous.

There was also the round of regular repeats. Thomo rediscovered Mongolia's Marine:, duh. And Colin discovered New Bowling: wasn't that the favorite pasttime in UB ten years ago?

But that was not all. Konchog said his prayers as he bumped into nearly breathing wolf trophy pasted to the front of a landcruiser. Possibly as shocking, but at least less violent: Bilguun saw sumo on the catwalk, and gives us a taste of "Kimchi bastard". Finally: Always keen for an excuse to flee the city, Don thought Women's Day was a good occasion to face Chinggis. He visited the huge 40 meter statue of Chingis in the Tuul River Valley, with some nice pictures as always.

Sain bain uu! Every Monday, I blog about things Mongolian at www.foxstudio.wordpress.com. I live in northern California and am a nature artist specializing in Mongolian subjects like the takhi and argali sheep. I have been to Mongolia three times, am currently planning my fourth trip this summer and, with luck, will finally get to attend a Nadaam celebration, maybe in UB. Mongolia Monday covers my travels to Mongolia and also the wildlife, people and culture, including food and poetry. I like airag, aruul, buuz and Chinggis Khan beer, staying in ger camps, visiting herders and just generally being in Mongolia. I got to ride and horse and a camel my last trip. I'm trying to learn some Mongolian, which I think is a really interesting language. I always enjoy getting comments from Mongols and other folks who like Mongolia. This Colin is able to put a list of all dubious or wrong facts on his blog....but where is this new bowling actually? Still close to the Chinggis Pub?
