A Mongolian team of climbers conquered Russia’s Mount Elbrus on Sunday.
The Mongolian team was headed by the international master of sports, B.Gangaamaa.
The group included sports masters O.Batmanlai and A.Janarbek. Besides them, another Mongolian group, made up of State Honored Sportsman G.Osokhbayar and international master of sports D.Erdenetogtokh, left Mongolia last Sunday to also conquer Mount Elbrus.
Mount Elbrus is the highest point in Europe, at 5,642 metres. B.Gangaamaa raised the Mongolian flag atop the mountain on Sunday at 5:45 p.m, Ulaanbaatar time.
Mount Elbrus is a volcano located in the western Caucasus mountain range, in Kabardino-Balkaria and Karachay-Cherkessia, Russia, near the border of Georgia, in the northern Iranian plateau.
