Part one
"Things that I mention here are only from me and don't mention Iran's government or any Iranians thought about Mongolia".
When we talk about Mongolia with Iranians, they immediately refer to history and specially Chengiz Khan. Most of Iranians are unaware of what is happening in Mongolia these days. I can say that Iranians are more interested in history of Mongolians than their present life. I specially understood this when I wrote an article about history of Mongolia in one of my weblogs that is called" Mongolia Magazine", that was the time when I had lots of visitors and comments.
Anyway, I think one of the most important reasons that why Iranians don't care very much about Mongolia is that Iran is a developing country herself and most of its people try to have relationship with industrial countries.
Of course I should admit that step by step, we have more interested people in Mongolia. Recently, Channel four of Iran's TV showed some movies and documentaries about Mongolia and Inner Mongolia. One of these movies was "The cave of the yellow dog" that was criticized by one of the most famous directors of Iran and he just complimented the movie and said: "I just enjoyed the movie".
Now I want to talk a bit about Iran and Mongolia diplomatic relationship as far as I know.
For twice, I called Iran's foreign affair to get information about Mongolia & Iran relationship. Once in 2006 when they patiently described Mongolia's situation in the region and how we contact them (By Iran's embassy in China). They told me that Iran doesn't have many nationals in Mongolia, so, it's not logical for Iran to establish an embassy in Mongolia.
Then I called Iran's foreign affair, few months ago to get new information. Again they kindly talked to me and tried to give me some information. That was the time when I understood: "Iran's foreign affair doesn't have knowledgeable specialist about Mongolia".
Later, one of Iranian's specialists told me that Iran's foreign policy is mainly focused on west east (Middle East) of Asia.
To be continued…
