It will be now be possible for Mongolian and South Korean citizens to receive a 90 day visa when presenting a passport.
An exchange of diplomatic notes took pace on Tuesday to formalize the announcement between Mongolian Minister of External Relations Sukhbaataryn Batbold and ambassador of the Republic of Korea (ROK) to Mongolia, Jon Il.
Batbold noted that South Korea is now Mongolia’s third largest trade partner. "The agreement will expand our cooperation in various fields and lay the foundation for visa-free travel in the future," Batbold said.
Last year, 36,000 Mongolians visited South Korea using 30-day visas. During a visit by Mongolia's Prime Minister Sanj Bayar to South Korea in 2008, 90-day visas were suggested.
