World Health Day is jointly celebrated in Mongolia under the slogan Let s
cooperate for health by the Mongolian Ministry of Health, the World
Health Organization (WHO) and the Mongolian State University of Medical
Sciences. The Health Minister Mr. L.Gundalai and Mt. R.Hagen, the WHO
Resident Representative in Mongolia, reported Thursday to the media on
the activities dedicated to the Day. A TV-meeting Distance learning in
the health sector will bring together the Medical Science Colleges in
Dornogobi and Darkhan-Uul aimags, the State University of Medical
Science, and the WHO Center in Manila. The meeting will discuss the
issues on how the Mongoilian health sector should interrelate with the
information and communication and technology development and how to
continuously involve doctors and nurses in the distance learning.
Training centers have been established in the united hospitals with the
financial assistance from the WHO, UNFPA, and the Canadian
International Research Center. The centers in Dornogobi and Darkhan-Uul
aimags were fully provided with TV-meeting equipment.
