Broad question about transition to democracy 2007/02/05 02:42

Hopefully, I'll be living in Mongolia next spring, but I've got a lot of questions...
I'm wondering about how the transition to democracy is affecting nomadic families. Do the families have more opportunities to take advantage of urban benefits, such as different medical treatment? Or do communities have their own methods of treatment? Do children grow up wanting to go to the city, or is this not really a major goal?
I really have a lot of questions, but this might be a good start. Maybe someone can just point me to some literature or a website? I've started keeping up with the news.
Thanks, KL

Do you happen to know Mongolia in Transition? That is quite a good book with some background on Mongolia and the effect of recent (90's) changes.
Recently a new online shop opened based in Mongolia that can ship any
goods you would like from Mongolia. Just drop them a line and they will
take care of it.
