Two (2) research positions available for marmot research in the Eastern Steppe.
One (1) position is for 2 months (May 25 to July 25th) and one (1) position is for 1 month (approximately June 1 to June 30th). Researchers should have good observation skills; some familiarity with raptors and other wildlife and ability to identify sign such as scat also helpful. Experience using GPS, data collection and data entry important. Ability to concentrate during long hours in a vehicle. Some camping experience and living in rough conditions helpful.

The American
Center for Mongolian Studies (ACMS) is seeking a Resident Director for
its Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia office. The ACMS is a non-profit, non-governmental
educational organization that supports the development of Mongolian
Studies and academic exchanges with Inner Asia. The ACMS is an American
Overseas Research Center with primary funding from the US Department
of Education and its 28 member institutions. For more information on

Ulaanbaatar, /MONTSAME/. At the end of April 2006, the number of
registered unemployed was 33.8 thous, that decreased by 10.3 percent or
3.9 thous. persons compared to the same period of the previous year.
The number of unemployed women was 18.9 thous, which is 55.9 percent of
total registered unemployed. In the first four months of 2006, 10.4
thous.registered unemployed persons entered into work and of whom 12.4
percent entered in government or state-owned enterprises, and the
remaining 87.6 percent in joined companies, cooperatives or other types
