Mongolia's former prime minister Elbegdorj in serious condition after car accident PDF Print E-mail

Ts. Elbegdorj, who served a term as prime minister twice, was part of an auto-accident on the way from Kharkhorin to Ulaanbaatar yesterday evening. His landcruiser-105 collided with a motorcycle yesterday evening around ten o'clock. Reports mention his driver died on the spot and Elbegdorj himself was braught with serious injuries to the trauma hospital in Ulaanbaatar. He is held in the intensive care and some sources mention he slipped into a coma. In the meantime traffice police is investigating the circumsrtances of the accident.

Elbegdorj was born on March 30, 1963 and was one of the leaders of the 1990 political revolution served the post of prime minister of Mongolia twice, vice speaker of parliament once and a member of parliament three times. Since 2006 he is chairman and leader of the Democratic Party.
