We are looking for a event coordinator who is able to start work as soon as possible, to head our activities in Mongolia in liaison with our staff in the UK. Applicants must be trustworthy, self-driven, confident and hard-working.

Roles: Your role in this position will be as coordinator of Mongolian operations for this renowned international adventure tourism event. This will initially include the finalizing of the Mongol Rally 2007, including dealing with this year’s rally cars, teams and all necessary administration and paperwork. The role will expand from October to include the organisation of the requirements in Mongolia for the 2008 event.

Skills: It is essential that this person have an excellent grip of the English language and strong translation skills, both oral and written in Mongolian to English and English to Mongolian. Applicants must be highly computer literate and have good people and communication skills.

You will be working closely with our staff in the UK, who will visit Mongolia regularly over the next twelve months to assist with the progress of the Mongol Rally 2008. You will be expected to work independently in a centrally located office venue.

Akira KAMIMURA, lecturer, faculty of Mongolian studies, Tokyo University of Foreign Studies launched an innovative website on old Mongolian manuscripts maps in cooperation with the state archive of Mongolia. It contains 16 precious maps which are stored at the state archive for academic use. The oldest map was estimated being made in 1803-1805.
