Trajan Minerals Ltd of Australia
will acquire mining rights in Mongolia with its purchase of UK-based
Pacific Ore Plc.
The $31 million sale allows
Trajan to become involved in commercial mining ventures in Asia.
Trajan will now inherit the
joint operating agreements Pacific Ore had with China-based Western
Mining Joint Stock Company for base-metal mining in China and Mongolia.
Pacific is best known for its
development of a bacterial heap leach process used to extract base metals
from sulphide ores known as the BioHeap technology.
