The International NGO, The Itgel Foundation seeks a young Mongolian researcher to assist us in ongoing research on the disease Brucellosis in the Tsaatan community. See below for more information and details provided by the Itgel Foundation.

Background:
The Itgel Foundation is an international NGO committed to protecting
Mongolia's cultural and environmental legacy through grassroots
projects. Our primary project, The Reindeer Life Project, is a dynamic
endeavor that works with the Tsaatan reindeer herders of Hovsgol on
veterinary, socio-economic, bio-medical, and reindeer-husbandry
related initiatives. Since 2002, we have been providing veterinary
exchanges and treatment, training programs, strategic herd and range
management consultations, and fostering programs that support
sustainable economic development in the community.
Among our most critical work is our research and mitigation program
associated with the disease Brucellosis. For the past two years we
have worked with leading Mongolian institutions and international
partners to test, type, and eradicate this disease from the Tsaatan
community, which affects both humans and reindeer. Currently, we are
seeking the participation of a young Mongolian researcher to assist us
in our quest to understand and eliminate this disease.
We are seeking applicants who would be interested in participating in
The Itgel Foundation's field research this summer and fall. Research
would occur between August and October 2006.
Requirements:
Applicants must be under the age of 30, and have a background in
veterinary medicine, human medicine, biology, animal science, nursing,
or a related field. Applicants enrolled in a university program at the
undergraduate or graduate level are preferred. Applicant must be
prepared to submit a proposal of research on the topic of Brucellosis
