Canadian-based Garrison International (TSX VENTURE:GAU) announced late last week that explorations at their Tovshiir Project, located in Sukhbaatar Province, showed larger than expected gold deposits near the surface.

Company officials noted that the positive surface results, “reduces the amount of potential overburden in an open pit operation and greatly enhances the economics of mine production.”

A total of 23 samples were collected from an area of 600 x 400 meters in surface zone of quartz mineralization.

Officials confirmed that the development of the near-surface excavations will be completed by winter to allow for full excavation at the site next spring.
