Tuesday, 23 October 2007
Monday was a very busy day for Mongolian President Nambaryn Enkhbayar.

At a White House ceremony in Washington D.C., President Enkhbayar joined U.S. President George Bush to sign the Millennium Challenge grant of $285 million in U.S. assistance.

During meetings following the signing, President Enkhbayar met with a variety of American officials including Vice President Dick Cheney, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice, Treasury Secretary Henry M. Paulson Jr., Labor Secretary Elaine L. Chao, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, and members of the congressional Mongolia Friendship Caucus.

President Enkhbayar was accompanied to the U.S. by first lady Onongiin Tsolmon, Foreign Minister Mr Nyamaa Enkhbold and Finance Minister Nadmid Bayartsaikhan.

The Millennium Challenge grant will be used for a variety of Mongolian infrastructure and business projects which seek to create sustainable economic growth for Mongolia.

Will the money actually be traced and accounted for?? Or will it find its way to varios pockets and accounts? Like so many aid packages. There is a reason why the government has cept the country at certain economic levels. It is called a welfare scam in more common terms. Except the ones who skim the welfare money are already in power and wealthy criminals. It's a crime and a shame.
