Goodbyes !

It’s time to go.                   Yavakh tsag bolchikhood baina.             Явах цаг болчихоод байна.

We had good time.            Saikhan bailaa.                                   Сайхан байлаа.

    Good bye.                         Bayartai.                                                Баяртай.

Good night.(Sleep well)      Saikhan amraarai, Saikah untaarai.        Сайхан амраарай. Сайхан унтаарай.

See you tomorrow!              Margaash uulzii!                                     Маргааш уулзая.

See you later!                      Daraa uulzii!                                          Дараа уулзая.

Come again soon!               Daraa dakhin ireerei!                              Дараа дахин ирээрэй.

The Mongolian for “bon voyage” literally means “go well!”:

Safe journey!                     Sain yavaarai!                                       Сайн яваарай!

Have a good trip!               Sain yavaarai!                                       Сайн яваарай!

The response from those leaving to those staying is:

Stay well!                         Sain suuj baigaarai!                   Сайн сууж байгаарай.

For the equivalent of “All the best!” (or if you sign off a letter or note) you can say:

Wishing you all good things!    Sain saikhan bükhniig khüsen erööi.  Сайн сайхан бүхнийг хүсэн ерөөе!

The more formal written “Your sincerely!” is      Khündetgen yoslogch           Хүндэтгэн ёслогч
