Gobi Desert storm causes rare December yellow dust alert in South Korea |

 Sand and dust from Mongolia’s
Gobi Desert have caused South Korea to issue a rare December yellow
dust advisory.
Most of the country will be
effected by the yellow dust, which is expected to exceed 400 micrograms
per cubic meter per hour for over two hours.
Government officials urge South
Koreans to avoid going outside during the yellow dust advisory. Those
who must leave their home are warned to wear a mask.
Sand and dust from the Gobi
Desert blankets South Korea each year during periods from February through
April.
The last December yellow dust
story occurred in 2001.
