China to build Mongolia’s largest gymnasium in Ulaanbaatar |

Just before the end of 2007,
China signed an agreement to build a gymnasium in Ulaanbaatar. China
will invest $15 million in the project.
When completed in 2010, the
gymnasium will be Mongolia’s largest, with a seating capacity for
5,000 spectators. A Chinese construction company
will begin work on the gymnasium in early 2008. In recent years, China and
Mongolia have had increased exchanges focusing on sports and education.
Discussions to build the gymnasium began in 2006. Recent years have seen growing
exchanges between China and Mongolia on education and sports. In 2006,
China decided to help its northern neighbor to build the gymnasium.
