Mongolia, with a total population of 2.6 million people, has 94 centenarians, people over 100 years old, living in the country.

In a report issued last week in Mongolia’s leading newspaper, Zuunii Shuudan, it was reported that Mongolia’s oldest person is 108 years old and lives in the central province of Arhangay. The next oldest, at 107 years old, lives in Ulaanbaatur.

Figures released by the government in 2007 showed the average life expectancy stands between 65 and 67 in Mongolia.
