As relations between China
and Mongolia continue to develop, Mongolian Olympic swimmer, Tsogjargal
Narantsog, was honored by being the first athlete to swim in China’s
Olympic swimming site, The Water Cube.
In officially opening The Water
Cube, Tsogjargal Narantsog introduced the world to what is considered
one of the most spectacular structures for competitive swimming in the
world. The site will feature prominently in China’s summer Olympics.
The Water Cube will host swimming,
diving, and synchronized swimming competitions during this summer's
Olympics.
The opening of the Water Cube
has been followed by praises being heaped on the massive site. A high-ranking
IOC member, Kevan Gosper, called it "out of this world" and
"breathtaking".
