Mongolian sumo wrestling champion, Asashoryu, again made wrestling history as he became the first sumo wrestler to win the Emperor's Cup three years in a row.

In the final bout on Sunday night, Asashoryu defeated fellow-Mongolian Tokitenku to win the one-day event. This was the 21st Emperor's Cups won by Asashoryu .

Asashoryu, who has won 21 Emperor's Cups, became the first wrestler to win the annual one-day event three times in a row.

Just last month, Asashoryu lost to Hakuho, also from Mongolia on the final day of the New Year Grand Sumo Tournament
