Genetic study of Mongolians being sought by U.S. organization PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 04 March 2008
A U.S. organization is scientifically studying the genetic history of the people of Mongolia.

In conjunction with the study the organization, The Sorenson Media Genealogical Foundation, is hosting a photo exhibition of the Mongolian people being held this month in their base city, Salt Lake City, Utah.

The Sorenson Media Genealogical Foundation collects DNA and oral histories of people from throughout he world to provide reliable data "to correlate genealogy and genetics," says foundation director Scott R. Woodward.

Sorenson Foundation has focused on Mongolia, says Woodward, because 800 years ago a huge portion of the world's population, "from the Far East to the middle of Europe, came out of Mongolia," Woodward told The Salt Lake Tribune.

Woodward noted that the organization often seeks common traits in people living thousands of miles apart. “What we were aiming for was the possibility that if only we could tell people how they were truly connected, then we might have an impact on breaking cultural barriers," said Woodward.

Salt Lake City, Utah is the international headquarters of the Mormon Church. A tenet of the church is researching family histories and the Utah city is considered the world center for genealogical histories of many peoples.

Big surprise that Mormon Church is behind all tihis!! No surprise at all that they are so interested in breaking cultural barriers since their agenda is to bring their "culture" throughout the world. If we have same genes why wouldn't we all be one happy mormon church right? Dont buy this trash american culture o Mongols! Nobody in the west does not listen to their fairytales anymore so they are turning to uniformed people of the east! Surprise them with informations and tell them: "No way Jose!"

There is no need whatever to fear the family history activities of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

No organization on earth, governmental or private, has done more to preserve the vital records of all nations. The Genealogical Society of Utah has filmed more than two million rolls of microfilm in archives all around the world, and these, together with the ever-increasing digital indexes, are made freely available to everyone.

Please check out the resources available at FamilySearch.org. You can even volunteer to help with indexing the microfilmed records at
FamilySearchIndexing.org

The Sorenson Molecular Genealogy Foundation is neither owned by nor controlled by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. It, too is doing an outstanding job of expanding the understanding of the common heritage of mankind. Dr. Woodward and his colleagues are outstanding scientists.

I feel so strongly about our shared heritage that I accepted their free offer to contribute a sample of my DNA (simple mouth rinse), together with a digital file of my pedigree, as far as it is known. You can do so, too: go to smgf.org.

I believe that understanding our family origins can only lead to greater peace and understanding among all people.

We have nothing to fear from truth, whether revealed by history or by science.

The Mongol blood line is of the purist, in all of the world. I'm proud of this, and all Mongolian traditions that are being sought after in an understanding and example for all humankind to love one another as brothers.
