Mongolia, other nations to receive funding from Japan
As part of an ongoing financial
aid program in Asia, Japan announced Friday that it will provide more
than $1 billion in low interest loans to countries throughout Asia.
Mongolia will also be a recipient
of these funds as Japan intends on providing nearly $230 million for
building a new airport in Ulaanbaatur.
Other programs to be funded
by Japan include $171 million to the Philippines to assist in funding
an expressway being built through central Luzon.
In Indonesia, Japan will provide
$607 million to expand the medical research department at the university
of Indonesia. Some of this money will also be used by Indonesia to add
another track to one of Indonesia’s busiest railroad routes.
