Held in Ulaanbaatur, the championship will be co-hosted by the Asian University Sport Federation. In 2007, the Federation chose Mongolia to host the first championship matches.

Some 17 Asian countries will participate in the matches, with each country entering up to ten competitors.

The four-day competition will include seven men's events, seven women's events, as well as seven men's singles, women's singles, men's doubles, women's doubles and mixed doubles.

Mongolia's Ministry of Health is coordinating the championship.
