U.S. political consultant to provide help to Mongolian women running for office PDF Print E-mail
Tuesday, 22 April 2008
ImageA veteran U.S. political consultant will be coming to Mongolia to assist women running for elected office.

Ron Dotza will be working with Mongolian women, some of whom had been in the United States in December to witness how American women are involved in their country’s political process.

Among the Mongolian women Dotza will be working for includes Battsetseg Shagdar, a candidate for parliament, and other women belonging to the Democratic Women's Union.

Battsetseg Shagdar led the group of Mongolian women who had been in the United States last year. Among their activities included attending a political campaign workshop run by the National Federation of Republican Women.

Ironic that America is going to teach mongolian women how to be involved with politics when Sükhbaataryn Yanjmaa was the world second elected female head of state The first female elected head of state being in the Tuvinian Peoples Republic. Mongolia Tuva and other nomadic nations with strong shamanic traditions, which include both men and women seem to have strong belief in womens equality and strong women who will defend that. Perhaps Americans could learn from the Mongolians. Just because America is rich does not mean it is more knowledgeable about everything

I would very much like to know more about Sukhbaataryn Yanjmaa. When was she elected for the president of Mongolia and what was her influence on politics?
