Malaysia warned of diplomatic break over Altantuya Shaariibuu murder trial PDF Print E-mail
Monday, 28 April 2008
ImageMongolia has threatened to break diplomatic ties with Malaysia over the murder trial of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu.

During an emotional press conference in Malaysia on Friday, Dr Shaariibuu Setev, father of the murder victim, announced that both the Mongolian Prime Minister and Foreign Minister have said Mongolia would sever ties with Malaysia if the outcome of the ongoing murder trial is deemed “irresponsible and unfair.”

Three Malaysian officials are currently being tried for the 2006 murder of Shaariibuu.

Trial testimony revealed that the 28-year old Mongolian woman was murdered after trying to confront Abdul Razak Baginda, a political consultant to top Malaysian elected officials. Police were called to Razak’s house on October 19, 2006, after Shaariibuu was reported at his front gate creating a disturbance.

A number of hours later, the Mongolian woman was discovered in a field after she had been murdered.

Court testimony indicated Shaariibuu was enraged with Razak following his ending a relationship with her.

Besides Razak, two Malaysian policemen were charged with murder.

Also on Friday, Mongolian honorary consul-general to Malaysia, Datuk Syed Abdul Rahman Alhabshi, said he was shocked by news that his country was considering breaking ties to Malaysia. “I was shocked when I heard that statement on television just now,” he said. “The Mongolian prime minister has written to the Malaysian Prime Minister three times, but there is still no reply. Mongolia should not be taken for granted.”

"Mongolia has threatened to break diplomatic ties with Malaysia over the murder trial of Mongolian Altantuya Shaariibuu." Whose point is this? Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Mongolia did not comment over what Shaariibuu said on a press conference in Malaysia.

Dear Sir,
These 3 sites will explain my urgency for your perusal; this is with regard to your citizen (Altantuya Shaariibuu) who was murdered in Malaysia.

Raja Petra Kamaruddin has been in the forefront for the fight for justice in this matter and he has been arrested. Please spread this news to all your sites , blog sites and make your country buzz with this awareness for the world and your Government to take appropriate action. You will do justice for her as much as many people in Malaysia who are fighting to see the killers brought to justice.

Please do this with all urgency.

Thanking you ,
Jarom
