Tourist Increase to Mongolia During 800th Anniversary |

This year Mongolians celebrating 800th Anniversary of Great State Mongolia and expecting tourists' number will increase. Ministry of Foreign Affair and Ministry of Road, Transportation and Tourism had discussion meeting on to ease for getting visa. They made following decision. Group tourists can get their visa cheaper. If your group has 5-10 tourists you get 25 % discount of visa fee. If your group has more than 10 tourists you get 50 % discount.
Additionally, last year (24 May 2005) Ministry of Foreign Affair and Ministry of Road, Transportation and Tourism and China National Department of Tourist had signed memorandum which indicated to support and ease Chinese group tourists. In this range of work 14 companies such as "Ar Mongol Travel" "Visit Mongolia" "Nuudelchin" "Undruul Sefan" "NMP" got authority to cooperate with Chinese Tourist Company. Chinese tourists who want to visit Mongolia will be in groups, no individual (single) tourist allowed.
The US embassy in Ulaanbaatar in the meantime warns in a mailing for a possible shortage of lodging:
...late bookings for individuals will be increasingly difficult in the spring months of April, May and June, and extremely hard to virtually impossible to secure during the high tourist season in July, August and September...
