Bill proposed to assist poor following increases in food prices PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 09 May 2008
ImageA bill has been drawn up to provide assistance to Mongolia’s poorest citizens in response to the rising costs of food.

Parliamentarian S.Batbold has presented a bill offering food and nutrition subsidies to a variety of citizens including poor elders, children, persons with disabilities, pregnant women and single mothers.

Aid is to be provided as actual food products such as flour, rice, meat, and others foods.

The bill will now be discussed by the government, following which it will be brought to the Parliament for possible enactment.
