Monday, 12 May 2008

The Mongolian National Archives has announced plans to publish a history of Socialist Mongolia based upon documents that are stored in Russian archives.

The latest documents to be published will cover Mongolia during the period of Russian Presidents Khruschev and Brezhnev.

A 1992 agreement between Mongolia and Russia seeks to open Russian archives to Mongolian scholars.

A first book published in 1996, entitled, "Comintern and Mongolia", began the series. Following this, a 2 volume history called, "About Mongolia in the history of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union", was released dealing with Mongolia during the Stalin years.
