Albert II, Prince of Monaco,
will visit Mongolia in August to view an archeological project Monaco
is assisting in.
Scholars from Monaco, representing
the University of Toulouse of France and the European Archeological
Center, have joined experts from the Archeological Institute of the
Mongolian Academy of Sciences to examine archeological sites in Arkhangai
aimag's Ikhtamir soum.
Discoveries in the area have
included objects dating from the Bronze and Iron Ages.
The explorations have uncovered
tombs, ancient mounds, standing stones with depictions of deer and wall
paintings.
