China’s vice president has
called for closer ties with Mongolia.
Meeting Thursday in Ulaanbaatar,
Chinese Vice President Xi Jinping said his country is ready to “join
hands” with Mongolia to improve economic and cultural ties.
In speeches, Xi said a “shared
respect for independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity,”
has been the cornerstone of relationships between the two countries.
Mongolian President N.Enkhbayar
met with Xi, following which the Chinese Vice President thanked Mongolia
for aid and its condolences offered after last month's deadly earthquake
in southwest China.
It was noted that Mongolia
and China will celebrate 60 years of diplomatic relations next year.
