Prime Minister’s visit to Tov aimag seen as recognition of business successes PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 26 June 2008

As a sign of his belief in Mongolian business, Prime Minister S.Bayar visited Mongolia’s economic and agricultural breadbasket, Zuunmod soum of Tov aimag this week.

The Gross Domestic Product of Tov aimag rose by 26.6 per cent in recent years while industrial production increased by nearly 20 percent.

Tov aimag also dominates the country in agricultural output, particularly in grain planting.  In 2007, the aimag planted 13.1 thousand hectares, and in 2008 that number increased to 18.9 thousand hectares. Some 20,000 to 22,000 tons of wheat are expected to be harvested this year.

While touring Tov aimag, the Prime Minister also visited a hospital being renovated as well as helped inaugurate a new center for Labor and Welfare.
