National Naadam competition conclude with Saturday ceremony

Closing ceremonies were held
Saturday for the 2008 National Naadam competitions held in Mongolia.
The final ceremony took place in Ulaanbaatar’s central stadium.
The Naadam games include traditional
Mongolian competitions in archery, wrestling and horse riding.
The games, this year, included
512 wrestlers, 200 archers and some 1,000 horses.
The wrestling matches have
no weight categories. Wrestlers attain ever-higher ranks, such as eagle,
elephant and lion, based upon the total number of rounds they win.
