Mongolia received $15 million World Bank grant PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 16 July 2008
Mongolia will receive over $15 million from the World Bank for three development projects.

In making its announcement last week, World Bank officials said the projects will include $1 million for financing for the Rural Education and Development Project, $9.3 million for a Mining Sector Technical Assistance Project, and $5 million for the Enhanced Justice Sector Services Project.

The Rural Education and Development Project will use its funding to link 20,000 computers for students with school libraries to provide additional reading opportunities to students.

The Enhanced Justice Sector Services Project will assist Mongolia in its ongoing efforts to improve the professionalism and transparency of government offices and institutions.

The Mining Sector Technical Assistance Project will seek to assure that mining remains a viable industry for years to come through professional management and investing in the creation of business infrastructures.
