Emergency livestock feed to be stored in case of winter blizzards PDF Print E-mail
Thursday, 17 July 2008

Emergency feed for livestock is being stored in strategic locations around Mongolia to be used in the event of snow preventing animals from being fed this winter.

The program is being instituted by Minister of Food and Agriculture Ts.Gankhuyag. Orders involve stocking three days of livestock feed in grazing areas where animals have been caught during blizzards.

The ministry has ordered governors of aimags and heads of the departments of food and agriculture to stock livestock feed for emergency use this winter. The program is being run in conjunction with Mongolia’s food campaign, "Hay and Fodder-2008."
