Officials have announced they
plan to build 24 new school buildings in Ulaanbaatar.
Citing statistics showing 68
percent of Ulaanbaatar’s population is made up of school-age children
and young people, city officials spoke of the need for additional schools.
Construction will be funded
by the JAICA /Japanese International Agency. This governmental organization
assisted with school construction in Mongolia in the past.
It is hoped that some of the
new schools will be open as early as 2009.
