South Gobi Energy Resources Ltd. (CA:SGQ) announced higher than expected coal deposits have been discovered at its Ovoot Tolgoi site.

A new report shows that Ovoot Tolgoi's West Field now contains coal deposits of 193.2 million tonnes, with an additional Inferred coal deposit of 138.8 million tonnes of coal.

Explorations were drilled to depths of 250 metres.

Company officials have identified three coal products for export from the Ovoot Tolgoi mine - thermal coal, premium thermal coal and metallurgical coal.
