Discussions to take place to build Mongolia- Kazakhstan road

Mongolia and Kazakhstan will discuss building a road between the two countries to further commerce and trade.

This announcement came at the conclusion of a two-day state visit to Mongolia by Nursultan Nazarbayev, President of Kazakhstan.

Speaking at a press conference in Ulaanbaatar, Nazarbayev said, “We are not satisfied with the trade turnover between Kazakhstan and Mongolia. The absence of a proper road is an obstacle in the development of trade relations. We would like to commence the construction of a road from Kazakhstan to Mongolia through Russian territory.”

Additional negotiations would involve Russia since the road would have to cross through its territory.
