Farmers seek help from government after insects attack crops PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 22 August 2008
Farmers are seeking relief from losses caused by crop-eating insects.

A drier than usual summer may have caused an infestation of a moth-like insect described as green and 2-5 centimeters long.

Farmers have said the insect has already destroyed crops on 60 hectares on farms in Tseel soum of Tov aimag.

Farmers have not had success combating the insect with traditional insecticides and have sought help from local government officials. So far, say farmers, the government has been slow to act.
