Returning soldiers to be honored in Ulaanbaatar on Thursday PDF Print E-mail

A ceremony will be held in Ulaanbaatar on Thursday to honor Mongolian soldiers returning from participating in the UN peacekeeping mission in Iraq. 

Mongolian President N.Enkhbayar will lead the ceremony and present medals to the returning soldiers. 

Soldiers from Mongolia’s Tenth Contingent will arrive home on Thursday and immediately proceed to Sukhbaatar Square for the ceremony. The soldiers will be awarded the “Warrior Merit" and "For Motherland" medals.

In 1979 an atlas was published in Ulaanbaatar by Mr. Rinchen with an overview of more than 900 religious sites that used to exist in Mongolia. However a lot the information listed seems to be not accurate. A research has been initiated to get a better idea of all the buddhist buildings that once stood in Mongolia.
