A total of 30.4 million heads of livestock were counted during the 2005 livestock census. In the first month of 2006, 5.5 thousand heads of livestock perished improperly, of which 0.1 thousand were camels, 0.6 thousand - horses, 0.7 thousand - cattle, 2.1 thousand heads - sheep, and 2.0 thousand heads - goats. The livestock loss decreased by 23.1 thousand against same period of the previous year.
