Mongolia 800 years Statehood Celebration Program |

The Mongolian government is calling all foreign countries to join in the celebration of the 800 th
anniversary of Mongolian statehood in 2006. Many events are going to be
held in Mongolia throughout 2006 to commemorate the unification of
Mongolia’s tribes by Chinggis Khan in the year 1206. See also the History of Mongolian Statehood
The culmination of festivities will be Mongolia’s national
holiday, “Naadam“, from 11 to 13 of July 2006. Another big festival
will be held in August at the former Mongolian capital Kharakorum. For
further information, please see the attached timetables of the 800
anniversary celebrations:
