Mongolia’s Olympic gold medal winner on tour of U.S. PDF Print E-mail
Friday, 28 November 2008
Mongolian Olympic gold medal winner Tuvshinbayar Naidan is currently being received as a celebrity as he tours the United States.

Naidan became the country’s first Olympic gold medalist during this summer’s Beijing games.

"In my country, we look to America," he said, according to the Montsame news agency. "My people value their freedom, and America is the land of the free."

Naidan has explained to Americans that his family are traditional, nomadic people who travel the steppes with their herds of horses and sheep.

For his Olympic training, Naidan explained to Americans how he often ran up to the summit of Saikan Uul, a mile-high mountain near his home village.

Congratulations!!
What are the tour dates and locations in the USA?
Wish I could meet him myself. Seems to be a humble, determined and highly competitive athlete worthly of recognition.
