Russian President, Prime Minister to visit Mongolia PDF Print E-mail

ImageRussian President Dmitry Medvedev and Prime Minister Vladimir Putin are expected to visit Mongolia this summer. 

The announcement was made following a Thursday meeting between Putin and Mongolian President N.Enkhbayar while both attended the World Economic Forum in Switzerland.  

President Enkhbayar said Putin would visit Mongolia in June and Medvedev could arrive in August. Also, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Igor Sechin would pay a working visit in February. 

Mongolian Prime Minister S.Bayar will take part in an official visit to Russia this spring.  

Putin made note of Russia’s desire to develop rail and mining projects with Mongolia. 

Russian-Mongolian trade grew to over $1 billion in 2008, while Russian imports to Mongolia increased by 61%, according to officials.
