Enkhbold, World Bank discuss progress in Mongolia PDF Print E-mail

Mongolian Prime Minister Mr. N.Enkhbold received Thirsday Mr. David R.Dollar, the World Bank s Director responsible for Mongolia, and Mr. Saha D.Meyanathan, the WB Resident Represenaive in Ulaanbaatar. At the meeting, D.R.Dollar informed the Premier that an annual Mongolian donors meeting will be organized twice a year under the WB new system according to the peculiarity of Mongolia. He handed over to the Premier the documents on results of the technical meeting titled The Government of Mongolia - Foreign Partners . The Premier approved the projects and programs to be carried out in Mongolia in 2006 with 26 million USD non-refundable aid from the World Bank to improve living conditions of rural residents. He also noted that one of the main focuses of the Mongolian Government s policy and activities is to promote private enterprises. He stressed that the tax, customs and license issues are required to be solved as well. The WB delegates appreciated the efforts being made by the Government for the national solidarity to restore its ties and cooperation with investors. The Premier expressed his satisfaction with the expansion of the collaboration between Mongolia and the World Bank and wished a high success to future activities of the Bank, which renders assistance to all socio-economic spheres of Mongolia.
