A ceremony was held today in the State Academic Theatre of Opera and Ballet to welcome the order issued by the Mongolian President Mr. N.Enkhbayar to develop the throat (overtone) singing, one of the wonderful folklore genres of Mongolia. The President Mr. N.Enkhbayar presented his order to Mr. O.Enkhtuvshin, the Minister of Education, Culture and Science. The President issued the order to develop the throat singing genres, one of the types of the intangible literature heritage of the Mongolian nation, on the basis of provision No. 34 of Mongolian Constitution based on proposals from arts and cultural institutions, scientists and artists. Minister Mr. Enkhtuvshin said that the relevant state organizations, NGOs, scientists, educators, throat singers, and arts and cultural figures are ordered to promote further the overtone singing. The Ministry of Education, Culture and Science together with the relevant arts and cultural organizations will work out a program on the throat singing development. All periods of overtone singers gave a concert at the ceremony.
